I have worked to support and empower people to manage issues and to motivate change since 2000. I have been a Recovery Practitioner in Alcohol and Substance Misuse for over 15 years and was employed by National Probation Service for over 5 years working with people with complex issues and their families. More recently I was employed by the local NHS Mental Health service (IAPT) supporting people with common mental health issues. I have counselling qualifications including a PG certificate in Drug and Alcohol counselling and in 2014 I qualified as a yoga instructor (Dru Yoga). I’ve been facilitating groups and 1-1 yoga sessions for many years, specialising in back care and teen yoga. I am passionate about making yoga and group work accessible for all. I have facilitated therapeutic sessions and yoga sessions for prisoners, substance misuse clients and people living with cancer, as well as work colleagues and the wider community. I facilitate therapeutic groups, using techniques such as CBT, NLP, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused approaches and have covered a variety of well-being topics including, anxiety management, alcohol awareness and building recovery capital. I have an empathic, motivational and collaborative approach to working with clients. I enjoy offering support to help clients build skills and experience, to better manage issues and to build confidence, resilience and potential.

I believe that ‘coaching’ has the power to increase both productivity and creativity. As a qualified executive coach and facilitator, I work both one to one, and with groups, exploring the skills and tools that allow us to unlock our inner potential. I regularly run Leadership and Coaching Skills workshops and recent clients include the NHS, BBC and The Civil Service. Professional Background With a background in the arts, both writing and performing, I have worked as a coach and a management trainer for over twenty years. My combined experience allows me to offer authentic and powerful observations on personal impact skills including feedback, status and body language and allows clients to explore their full potential when leading with impact. I bring a light touch and sensitivity to sessions whilst also offering a firm level of challenge that allows clients to explore and flex their status. I enjoy working with people who wish to lead more effectively, communicate with rapport and to feel comfortable when dealing with challenging situations. Dealing with anxiety and imposter syndrome, are areas that have provided a particularly rewarding area of work recently and have helped both myself and my clients to refocus and look at situations from new perspectives. I am a State Registered Occupational Therapist and qualified in 1994. Occupational Therapy is an Allied Health Profession and it's focus is on enabling and empowering those experiencing health problems to get back to their every day occupations such as work, personal care or leisure activities. I have worked in the NHS, social services, voluntary sector and private sector, supporting people with both physical needs and mental health challenges. More recently I have developed and taught programmes for care staff in the NHS working with bereaved families. I enjoy facilitating groups that are therapeutic and practical and have developed, managed and supervised group programmes in mental health services, both in in-patient and community settings. I am in the process of completing my Advanced Practitioner qualification in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and have found this an excellent tool in helping individuals who are struggling to move forward in their lives or who feel they are stuck in repeated patterns of behaviour or overwhelmed by their emotions. I believe that stress and trauma is frequently at the root of many of the challenges we have and I find that combining more traditional talking therapies with complimentary approaches such as yoga, mindfulness and tapping (EFT) can make a huge difference to well-being. My speciality is working with people who are struggling with stress or trauma. I provide group work and 1-1 EFT counselling.
